Services

Suboxone is taken orally, under the tongue, to treat both pain and help those suffering from opioid addiction. Suboxone is a combination of Buprenorphine and Naloxone.

Buprenorphine is known as a partial agonist, meaning it attaches to the opioid receptors but does not fully activate them.
While naloxone is opioid antagonist which blocks the effects if taken with an opioid. These medications together allow the patient to experience pain relief and fill the opioid receptor, but prevents and blocks the effects like heroin, oxycontin, etc.

Vivitrol is an injection given in our office.

Patients on vivitrol receive the injection once a month. This medication is used to prevent relapsing for those dependent of opioids or alcohol.
Vivitrol uses the drug Naltrexone, which is an opiate antongonist and blocks opiate effects. This is an extended release medication which also reduces the urge to use both opiates and alcohol.
